Power Of Prog Review

There have been many great debut releases as of late and Half Past Four’s debut Rabbit in the Vestibule is no exception. Half Past Four is five piece band of eclectic proggers hailing from Canada and Rabbit in the Vestibule is a hearty album filled with lots of meat no fat or fillers. This is not your usual fanfare of prog, it’s a unique blend of Jazzy Prog, with loads of other elements mixed in for good measure. Kyree Vibrant vocals has a nice blend of Ember Swift, Martha Davis and Kate Bush while still sounding fresh and original. The rhythm section is tight and for those craving some spectacular fret work well there is plenty of that as well. I am not one for comparing bands as this could be very misleading but in this case I will pass go and use my get out of jail card. Rabbit in the Vestibule will appeal to fans of Fluttr Effect, Frank Zappa, Kate Bush, and Danny Elfman to name but a few.
