Half Past Four - Rabbit in the Vestibule
Independent release
There
has been quite a buzz about this album, first released in 2008, on various
progressive rock forums, so it was interesting to get my hands on it at last.
The album is certainly an interesting ride, very intricate with some thrilling
instrumentation heavily influenced by fusion and King Crimson. Honey-throated
singer Kyree Vibrant is also quite a find with a great range. Sounding a bit
like Thieves Kitchen on steroids, this is challenging yet entertaining and fun
music, both coolly modern and pleasantly retro, and comes recommended to those
who like their prog with plenty of challenges and also a few surprises!
