| Dmitry Lesov |
| a. k.a "Les" |
| |
Les plays the bass.
His bass prefers obscure, groovy and flowing waters with aquatic vegetation where food and cover are available.
It tends to occupy brackish to freshwater habitats, including upper registers, rivers, lakes, reservoirs and ponds.
Spawning occurs from December through May, although occasional spawing occurs year round. Les' bass builds saucer-shaped nests 20 to 30 inches in diameter by placing its lower end near the bottom and rotating around this central location.
When spawning is done, Les sometimes slaps and plucks percussive notes to accompany his bandmates. He does this with a brilliant, wild abandon that is unmatched in most marine life habitats. There may be an upcoming documentary on the LES phenomenon entitled "Water and Wood: The story of Les' bass work". |
